Underwater Swimming

The underwater swimming game is a fun kid swimming race. It's also one of the cool outdoor games for kids and team building games for kids.

6 or more players
Ages: 6 and up

Adult supervision is needed.

This game should be played in shallow water, not at the deep end of the swimming pool.

Begin by dividing the kids into 2 equal teams. The teams line up in waist high water, one player behind another player on her team. There should be an arm's length between the players.

Each player stands with her legs about 2 - 3 feet apart. There needs to be enough room for other players to swim through their open legs.

The last player in line on each team needs to be 15 - 20 feet from the end of the pool's wall. Teams should be about 5 feet from each other in the water when they're lined up beside each other.

An adult leader shouts "go!" and the player first in line goes underwater and swims between her teammates' legs.

When she swims through the last player in line's legs, she stands up and is now the last person in line.

The player who was behind her, now the first player in line, swims underwater the same way the first player did.

When she swims through the last player's legs, she, too, stands at the end of the line and the next player goes.

Play continues with each player in line doing the underwater race.

The first team to complete the race is the winner.
