Swimming Games
Swimming games with inner tubes are fun team building games for kids, kids outdoor games and teen games.
4 or more players
Ages: 8 and up
Need beach ball, inner tubes
Adult supervision is needed. Nonswimmers can play as all players wear inner tubes. If younger kids are playing, keep the game in the shallow end of the pool.
Place 2 towels on each opposite side of the pool to mark the goal spots. Put the towels 2 - 3 feet apart. The space between them is where the ball needs to go to score a point.
Divide the kids in to 2 teams with an equal number of players. Each team gets into the inner tubes and lines up on each side of their goal area.
An adult shouts "ready, set, go!" and throws the ball in the middle of the pool. Each team tries to get the ball.
When a player gets the ball she can hold on to it or pass it to a teammate. The player who has the ball swims to the opposite team's goal, trying to score a point.
The opposing team can try and intercept the ball as it's being passed to a teammate or they can block her from reaching the goal.
Players can touch another player's tube, but no touching the player in the tube is allowed.
The player with the ball throws it, trying to hit the wall area where the goal is. If the ball doesn't make it out of the water, the person who gets it takes control and play continues as before.
If the ball goes out of the pool, the team who did not last touch it gets control.
When a team scores a goal - and gets a point, the other team then gets control.
Play continues until a preset amount of time has elapsed. At the end of that time, the team with the most points wins.
