Slapjack

Need standard deck of cards

Begin by each player picking a card. The one with the highest card shuffles and deals all the cards, one at a time, face down. Some players may receive more cards than others.

Each player places his cards - don't look! - in a stack face-down in front of him.

The object of the game is to win all the cards. The player on the dealer's left is first and lays the top card on her pile face up in the middle of the table.

The next player does the same, placing his card face up on the previous player's card. This continues until a player lays a jack down. As soon as a jack is layed down, all players try to slap their hands on top of it.

The player who slaps the jack first takes the whole stack and puts the cards in her pile.

The player to this player's left starts a new stack in the center. If a player slaps a card that is not a jack, he must give a card to each of the other players.

A player who's out of cards can still play. If he sees a jack layed down and is the first to slap it, he takes the pile and continues playing.

But if he isn't the first to slap the jack, he's out of the game. The winner is the first player to collect all the cards.
