Sentence Game
The sentence game is a good challenging vocabulary game for kids.
It's one of the fun logic games and thinking games.
2 or more players
Ages 9 and up
Need pencils and paper, timer
Begin with the players agreeing on a word 4 to 7 letters long.
Players then have to create one sentence using the first letter of each word in the order the letters appear in the word.
Example, the word is "shirt". A sentence could be, "Sam helps Ida rent trucks."
Another word can be "glasses". A sentence the kids can come up with includes, "George loves all slimy snakes eating soap".
It's not as easy as it looks! As long as the sentence makes sense, it can be as crazy as the kids create it to be!
This is another good game to play with the kids in English class to help them connect strings of sensible words.
Parents can join in at home and play along!
You cannot use the main word (shirt) or repeat words twice in a sentence.
After each player has read his sentence, one point is given to each player who has a sentence that makes sense.
You can decide before the game how many rounds will be played. A new word is chosen after each round.
Set a time limit of 2 or 3 minutes for the players to come up with their sentences.
The player with the most points at the end of the final round wins.
