Newspaper Science Game

The newspaper science game is one of the cool science experiments for children, kids water games, and learning games for kids.

Need: 1/2 sheet of newspaper, 12 oz or 16 oz clear glass, bowl

Tear a standard sheet of newspaper in half.

Crumble the paper and put it into the glass. Make sure it is packed in tight. Leave about 1/2 inch at the top.

Fill the bowl with water. Pick up the glass, turn it upside down and place the rim into the water until it touches the bottom of the bowl.

Leave it there for 10 seconds then lift the glass up, wipe the rim, and turn the glass right side up.

Remove the newspaper - it should be dry, not wet!

This is one experiment kids will be absolutely amazed at! How can the paper not be wet?!

Science teachers will want to try this in their classrooms. Gather the kids around and enjoy a fun experiment!

Try leaving the glass with newspaper in it in the bowl for longer periods of time.

Start off with 15 seconds and work your way up to 30 seconds in 5 second increments.

After each time, check the newspaper.

Is it still dry? Is it wet? If it gets wet, at what time interval did the paper become wet?

For the final experiment, leave the glass in the bowl of water for 60 seconds. Take it out and see what happened to it!
