Hide and Seek Game

6 or more players
Ages: 8 and up

Begin by dividing the players up into 2 teams with the same number of kids. Then mark a spot as home base.

One team is the hiders and the other the searchers. The hiders wander off leaving the searchers at home base.

After 5 minutes has elapsed, all but one of the hiders returns to base. He finds a good place and hides.

The seekers have to name the person who didn't return then all of them go off to find him while the hiders stay at base.

The hider needs to make it back to home base without being caught. If he does, his team wins that round and gets a point.

For the next round teams switch up. The hiders are now the searchers and vice versa.

After a preset number of rounds, the winning team is the team with the most points.

This is a good game to play in gym class. It also is fun on the playground at recess time.

Kids can play it at a family reunion or picnic, too.

For older kids and school games, you can give them names of people currently in the news or in history.

If "George Washington" doesn't return, the kids call out his name and then try to find him.
