Handball
Handball is one of the cool tennis games for kids, playground games and fun outdoor games for kids.
6 or more players
Ages 9 and up
Need: tennis ball, chalk
Draw the playing field with chalk, 25 feet wide and 45 feet long. Then draw a line down the middle of the playing area.
Divide the kids into 2 teams with the same number of players. Each team gets on one side of the field, facing each other.
The server on each team stands in the back of his playing area on the right side.
He serves the ball by bouncing it on the ground one time and then hitting it with his open palm.
The ball has to cross the center line when he serves. He gets 2 chances to do this.
If he's successful, the other team returns the serve, using their palms. It's okay if the ball bounces more than once before it's hit back.
However, once hit, the ball must cross the center line before it's allowed to bounce.
If the server can't get the ball over the middle line in 2 serves, the other team gets to serve.
Mistakes include: a team can't return the ball across the middle line, the ball is hit out of bounds, it stops bouncing on their side and can't be hit, or it bounces once and then goes out of the playing area.
If the serving team makes a mistake, the other team gets to serve.
If the other team makes a mistake, the team serving gets one point. Only serving teams can receive points.
The team who reaches 21 points first wins.
